Any Content, Any Skills Framework, Any Platform

The central reason why LearnerShape’s AI-based technology is disruptive is its flexibility. This can be difficult to convey to customers and investors, who need to understand why what we do is better than existing solutions for organizational reskilling.

We are not better like a Tesla is better than a 1970s gas guzzler. That is, we don’t have a one-size-fits-many reskilling platform to sell to big companies, like the offerings of some of our competitors. There are some excellent reskilling products out there, but we think they can miss the mark for many companies and their employees, because education is complicated.

We are better like Amazon Web Services is better than traditional on-premise IT services. It took a while for people to figure out why cloud services are so much better for many applications, because the benefits of flexibility do not become apparent until you start working on projects that require that flexibility. That’s what’s happening to LearnerShape now, and it’s very exciting for us.

More precisely, our advantage is being able to recommend:

• any content (so long as it can be described in words)—e.g. online or offline, publicly-available or internal (allowing best use of existing content), free or paid (allow granular decisions on content cost), and regardless of technology used (including new technologies such as AR/VR)
• using any skills framework—recommendations can be tailored to the precise skills that an organization requires, however they are described and recorded by the organization, rather than depending upon the categories used by the course provider or content platform
• on any platform—LearnerShape provides a custom enterprise portal (delivered as a web application), and we also have the ability to deliver recommendations to other platforms through integration with our computational infrastructure (using APIs provided by our microservice architecture).

The exciting part is when this flexible vision delivers results for customers. For example, we are currently working with a major UK-based content provider that wants to offer learning pathways precisely tailored to the skills gaps of its customers, recommending the right content to fill individual and organizational skill gaps. These recommendations would be delivered to a variety of applications in the customer’s business.

Another customer is the UK arm of an international university, which wants to offer data science learning content for a new degree program, precisely tailored to the needs of individual students.

Applications like these are exactly what LearnerShape was built to deliver. We expect more and more customers to benefit from our technology as they see what we can do, and as the technology steadily improves.
